This site is a documentary record of a wildlife park that operated at Honeydew in Gauteng, near Lanseria, and that no longer trades under that name.

Corrections

Corrections are the main reason to write. Much of what is set out here concerns real people, published reporting and events that were covered in several languages at once, which is a good way to accumulate small errors: a date rendered differently in two outlets, an outlet credited for a story it picked up rather than broke, a species name used loosely.

If something on these pages is wrong, say which page, which sentence, and what the correct version is. A source is more useful than an assertion, and a specific one is more useful than a general one. Reports of factual errors are read and acted on; pages are amended instead of quietly deleted, unless the whole basis of a page turns out to be unsound.

Requests to remove accurate, published information are treated differently from corrections, and are considered on their own terms rather than granted as a matter of course.

The email address

Write to [email protected]. That is the only address this site uses. There is no telephone number, no postal counter and no contact form, and nothing here is monitored around the clock, so a reply may take some days.

What happens to an email once it arrives is described in the privacy notice.

Enquiries meant for the wildlife park operating today

A steady proportion of the messages that reach an address like this one are not for this address at all. They ask about opening times, entry prices, bookings, group rates, volunteering placements and lost property. None of those can be answered here.

The operation that once used this name was rebranded and moved to a different site, and it is a going concern run by people who have nothing to do with this record. Anything practical about visiting a wildlife park in that part of Gauteng today needs to go to the business running it, through its own channels. Messages of that kind sent here cannot be forwarded, because there is no arrangement with anyone to forward them to.
